Purton Barn was born from a love of wooden living spaces and a passion for making them work well for owners. Now in new larger workshops and offices in 2025, our growing team of designers and carpenters have been creating buildings big and small for nearly 20 years, from oak frame houses to standalone garden buildings.
Our head craftsman Cristian has been working with timber his whole life and brings traditionally learnt construction and finishing skills to set our buildings apart. All of our team is involved from the design of our buildings and huts to client discussions, sketches, 3D cad modelling and final production and delivery. We have a team of skilled carpenters and designers, and Cristian is always training the next generation of timber building craftspeople.
The connectivity that has made working from home possible changed how we view buildings and extra garden space. Increasing enquiries for moveable living spaces has focussed the the future of our business. If you're running out of space inside or just want to step into a separate space, a garden building for an office, studio, retreat or a spa is now completely possible.
Set in pastoral farmland in North Wiltshire next to the old Saxon village of Purton we are surrounded by country living inspiration, from nearby Cotswold towns to the gentle sweep of the Thames into historic Oxfordshire sites. We are investing in our buildings and our team with large renovations in 2025 and will be happy to welcome you by appointment back to our offices and showroom from August 2025, all located on the same site as our main workshop.
We believe in protecting and renewing hardwood resources. When we select our woods and interior materials at Purton Barn we follow eco-friendly practises in all aspects of our woodwork to create beautiful and feel-good spaces.
